Create Plastic Heroes

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world- Nelson Mandela

Our way of working

  • Schoolchildren regularly carry out plastic waste sweeps
  • We build and supply recycling, shredding and extruder machines to convert plastic into sustainable products
  • We construct workshops in schools between Moshi and Arusha, West Kilimanjaro. Pupils receive mechanical instruction twice a week from our partner, Roots & Shoots. Children always work under supervision
  • With our partners, we have introduced a "Skills & Development” programme and the Happy Green Tanzania project to some school curriculums in the Kilimanjaro region

The lessons stimulate creativity and entrepreneurial skills and are a great success – the kids love it!  Children receive picture books and play games to illustrate and learn the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment.

We have opened the eyes of hundreds of school children, but there are thousands more to reach.

By spreading the word, other schools will join our scheme next year.

Join us and donate to reach more schools.

“…I am amazed by using machines to shred the plastics and then put it in the extruder to make innovative products that are appealing to people.”

One pupil, George, explained: “It is my dream to have my own workshop for plastic recycling and earn an income for my family.”
