PRIVACY

We value your donation and support of any kind, small or big.  We will do all that is necessary to merit your donation and support.  If any of us fail to act in a way that is consistent with our values and behaviors, we fail as an organization.

Please find hereunder some of our compliance actions.

Because we gather important information from our users, visitors and customers, we have established this Privacy Policy as a means to communicate our information gathering and dissemination practices.  By accessing this website, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy and also agree to the Terms of Use Agreement, of which this is an inherent part.

Values

Our work is based on deeply held values and principles. It is essential that the commitment to our partners’ rights and humanitarian principles is supported and demonstrated by all members of Greenmanjaro and its representatives.

Our values are the behaviours that are needed to achieve our mission.

Members, trustees, ambassadors, educational people, friends and partners of Greenmanjaro should act with integrity, comply with laws, maintain a professional work environment and adhere to company policies. They should treat supporters, partners and colleagues ethically at all times.

Four values sit at the heart of Greenmanjaro:

  • We are candid about and respect each other;
  • We are fully transparent on what we do;
  • We are curious about and listen actively to the needs of ”locals”;
  • We offer the best we have and embrace change for the best of all;
  • We adhere in our work to the international Human Rights of people and engage our partners to do the same.

Rights

Acting in the Netherlands and in Tanzania, we promote the right to life, the right to freedom, equality before the law and due process, the right to privacy, the right to property, freedom of speech, the right to relax, the right to have shelter, food and education, the right to peace and the duty to protect these rights;
We don’t discriminate or give priority to one particular gender or color;
We avoid labor by children and refuse partners engaging in child labor;
We reduce unfavorable impacts on human rights, directly related to projects or our value chain, by improving working conditions at our co-operating partners and in the villages where our projects are executed.
On a regular basis, our management conducts risks analysis to determine human right downsides.
Incidents are treated with due respect for our staff and in full openness and honesty.

ANBI DONOR INFORMATION

ANBI is the non-profit tax designation in the Netherlands issued by the Tax Office (Belastingdienst) in accordance with the general tax laws (Uitvoeringsregeling Algemene Wet Rijksbelastingen 1994). ANBI stands for Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling. This designation is issued to organizations, which meet the required criteria and the Tax Office keeps an online searchable database of this information (http://www.anbi.nl/#ANBI).

Since the constitutional change, non-profit organizations on the BES islands can now apply for ANBI status from the Dutch Tax Inspectorate. This status can be helpful for fundraising in the Netherlands.
