Greenmanjaro initiates, facilitates and supports climate-care projects in the Kilimanjaro region. We are not a Tanzanian entity, and therefore work exclusively with trusted local organisations that understand the country, its communities and local customs.
We also collaborate with selected Dutch partners when specific expertise or services cannot be sourced locally in Tanzania to the required standard. We are particularly grateful to our long-standing partners MBB and hey.iszo+ for the many hours of expertise and commitment they have contributed, and continue to contribute, to Greenmanjaro projects.

FTK -Foundation for Community Transformation in Kilimanjaro
FTK is a non-governmental organisation registered in Tanzania, and a joint initiative of the Dutch FEMI Foundation and TPC Company Ltd. FTK has always believed in empowering communities. From the beginning, villagers took part in planning and running projects. Today, FTK programmes are managed locally, with oversight by our Tanzanian Board of Directors. This ensures solutions are sustainable and relevant.
Our invaluable partnership with Stichting Pharus has enabled Greenmanjaro to take its educational mission to the next level. Their generosity and trust made it possible to create and distribute our student book, The Future Is in Our Hands, and to launch our highly successful Kili Kids Lighthouse Festival, bringing our Educational Lighthouse Programme to more than 40 schools and communities.
Pharus means lighthouse, a beacon of light, guidance and hope, a philosophy that closely reflects our shared ambition to create meaningful and lasting change. Inspired by the festival's success, our Kili Climate Days are now bringing Climate Care education directly to even more young people and communities.

Happy Green World is a Dutch foundation that develops educational programmes around waste, water and energy. Its programmes encourage sustainable behaviour among children aged 6 to 14 and provide practical knowledge that helps young people understand their role in protecting the environment.
Our partnership with Afrisos brings powerful storytelling to our educational programme. Afrisos preserves Africa’s rich natural and cultural heritage through community-driven storytelling, inspiring and educating young audiences through impactful environmental films, strengthening awareness and engagement around climate action.

We are deeply grateful to Tanzania Forest Services (TFS), especially the TFS Northern Zone Office, for enabling Greenmanjaro and JGI to support the restoration of Rau Forest through planting and nurturing native tree species. We work with the Ministry of Education of Tanzania on educational projects in schools and collaborate with government authorities at local, regional and national levels. These partnerships help ensure that our programmes are locally relevant, well supported and aligned with broader environmental and educational priorities.
Jane Goodall was an enduring icon for Greenmanjaro and a deeply admired advocate for nature, conservation and positive change. Her lifelong dedication inspired hope and action in generations of people, young and old, and closely reflected Greenmanjaro's own belief that every individual can make a difference. Ajeka & Fox are both members of Greenmanjaro, combining their creativity with a shared passion for education and the environment. Together, they created two children's books: The Future Is in Our Hands and Semba & Kibo Change the World, inspiring young people to understand how their everyday actions can make a positive difference. The Tanzanian Institute of Education has approved The Future Is in Our Hands for circulation in all mainland schools in Tanzania.
